La secretaría de la Nación crea por decreto N° 11.892 el 24 de abril de 1948 la “Escuela Industrial Politécnica de Avellaneda” y designa el 10 de Junio al Ing. Cayetano Iacona como organizador de la misma, quien inmediatamente se abocó a los problemas de su instalación y organización contando con un presupuesto inicial para cinco divisiones de primer año.
El director de la Escuela de Química, ubicada en la calle Lavalle 176, ofreció una parte de las dependencias que estaban desocupadas durante el turno tarde, pudiendo así funcionar provisoriamente la secretaría y la dirección de la nueva escuela y poniéndose en marcha la organización de la misma, hasta tanto se ubicara la escuela en otro predio.
De esta manera comenzó la difusión entrevistando vecinos, sociedades, industrias, establecimientos de enseñanza, comerciantes y diarios, para promocionar a la escuela y encontrar un edificio donde instalarse. Leer mas...
